The 252 Badge Scheme<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The 252 scheme<\/strong> is a fun way to measure your progress and build confidence as you work through the different distances in outdoor archery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The idea is simple: score 252 points or more<\/strong> by shooting six ends of six arrows<\/strong> (that\u2019s 36 arrows) at a given distance. Once you hit the target score, you earn a coloured badge for that distance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • 20 yards \u2013 Green badge<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • 30 yards \u2013 White badge<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • 40 yards \u2013 Black badge<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • 50 yards \u2013 Blue badge<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • 60 yards \u2013 Red badge<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • 80 yards \u2013 Yellow badge<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    You can tackle the distances in order, or just work at the level that suits you. The score to beat is the same for everyone, no matter which bow type you shoot \u2013 the aim is to demonstrate consistent accuracy before moving further back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    How to Take Part<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    1. Shoot your round<\/strong>: Outdoors at the club range, shoot 6 ends of 6 arrows (36 arrows total) at the distance you\u2019re attempting.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. Have your score verified<\/strong>: Another club archer must witness your round and sign your score sheet.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    3. Submit your score<\/strong>: Send your signed score sheet to the Records Officer.\n
