Having missed last year’s Lions event because of the covid restrictions, this year we managed to hold it outside at the range, rather than inside as usual. We were especially lucky with the weather and had a wonderful sunny day for the session on Saturday and the rain stayed off on Sunday.
We had over forty children come and try archery – ‘shooting for gold’ or trying to hit balloons! Everyone had a great time, including all the volunteers.
Richard our chairman summed it up like this:
I would just like, on behalf of the committee, to pass on my thanks to members who over this weekend had involvement with the Lions Event. As expected the sessions were well received by the children and the Lions Club. Due to Covid our event was one of the few that was able to go ahead for the children this year.As we know, we have previously held this event indoors at the end of March and it made a nice change to host the sessions outside, with the weather being kind to us.
Several parents enquired about beginners courses for their child and it may even prove to be something a parent or two may wish to try, judging by some of the conversations I had.
Many thanks again.
